This dark cobalt blue bracelet was my second project and was also made with beads that were already in my stash. This bracelet is made with cobalt blue and blue iris size 11 Czech glass seed beads, cobalt blue 4mm Czech fire polish beads, and some unknown brand cobalt 4mm bicones. Like I said, these were all already in my stash (which I’ve accumulated over almost 2 decades), so I’m not sure where they’re from. This is also made with black Nymo thread which gives it a darker color hence the “Midnight.” This is one of the ways you can play with color in your beadwork – it’s kind of amazing how just using a different color of thread can change the look of the piece.
I would make this piece differently if I were to do it again and may end up remaking this one anyway. Nowadays I tend to add a beaded loop on each end of the bracelet with the lobster clasp on one end. I feel it is more secure than the jump rings as I have it pictured here. I would also use Fireline in the smoke color. I made this before I purchased any Fireline; I’ve had a giant spool of black Nymo for years so that is what I used. Fireline is now my preferred beading thread, but Nymo definitely still has its uses such as fringe.
“Midnight Cobalt” bracelet is 21.5 cm total length with clasp, 12mm wide.
